The insistence on “hard edges” and hence clarity of drawing throughout my oeuvre eventually needed to be challenged. Searching for a way of doing this which would square with my need for materials to be honestly presented, I found hand-made paper from India which came in standard sizes but with the broken edges that occur during making. These sheets did exactly what I wanted and I continue to find this paper of great interest.
