My interest in interior space and the possibilities of exploring indeterminate surfaces which create a lack of spatial certainty in the viewer, led me inevitably to pursue the possibilities of light and also colour as means to develop atmosphere and shifts of mood in the works. I was also becoming interested in the possibilities of reflectiveness as another means of destabilising the viewer’s experience.
